Teaching Fear has been a long time coming; it has been in the forefront
of my mind for most of my academic career. It has only recently come
to the surface because of the support and encouragement of many
people.
My husband, Cody, and children, Lucas and Kate, were the best coaches
and cheerleaders for me while I wrote this book. Thank you to all of you for
your dinner time conversations that made me feel I could keep moving forward
with this project. Thank you for being a sounding board when I needed
it, for pushing me when I wanted to give up, and for being so genuinely
happy for me at the conclusion of this book. You gave me the confidence to
do this. I am so thankful for all of you, and I love you all.
