This book was submitted as a PhD thesis at the University of Passau in February
2021. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to my supervisor, Professor
Dr. Christoph Herrmann, LL.M., for his support during the entire PhD process. I
benefitted immensely from his academic guidance and profound knowledge in EU
trade defence law. I am also very thankful to Prof. Dr. Till Müller-Ibold for kindly
agreeing to be the second examiner. Being an internationally recognized expert both
in EU trade defence law and EU competition law, his comments on my work were
extremely valuable.
As part of my PhD project, I was able to spend two months working in the
Cabinet of Judge Ian S. Forrester at the General Court in Luxembourg. I am deeply
grateful for this opportunity to pursue my PhD project at the very place where EU
law is shaped and to benefit from the inspiring environment there.
I would further like to express my gratitude to the Studienstiftung des deutschen
Volkes e.V. for funding my PhD thesis.
